Adam West, the star of TV’s “Batman” series died Friday. Burt Ward was the caped crusader’s indispensable partner Robin in the fight against crime in Gotham City. Ward says the two hit it off right from the start.
”From the first day I met Adam, it was in July of 1965, the day we screen tested together and the first two or three minutes of having met him, started to talk to him, the two of us began laughing and we’ve had a wonderful, fantastic fifty-year ride.”
Ward says actors loved guest-starring on the show.
“Many of them told me it was one of the greatest things they ever did. And I would ask them why and the answer was always the same: Because they weren’t limited to just a specific character with a certain attitude; that they could make it bigger than life and they had as much fun as Adam and I did.”
Ward says he and Adam West continued to attract large numbers of fans at personal appearances.
Burt Ward was a guest on McIntyre in the Morning.
