Is it Twitter analytics or Twitter employees blocking tweets with certain words? Many conservatives say social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter ban posts or tweets deemed offensive from a progressive perspective.
Mark Krikorian, Executive Director of the Center for Immigration Studies explains why it’s clear that it’s the employees, and not analytics, that blocked his group from promoting tweets which included the words illegal alien.
“The people doing this are a couple of years out of college. They’re coming out of these safe space, crazy places where speech is policed. And if somebody says you can put on a dress but you’re not a woman, well, they’ve never heard anything like that before. I mean, literally, that’s shocking to them. They start shaking and sweating, so this is probably the same kind of thing.”
He goes on to say it’s precisely that reason that the words, which have been part of our national dialogue for years should be used.
