Movie mogul Harvey Weinstein was fired from his own production company, as more stories of his bad behavior toward women come to light. Los Angeles TV reporter Lauren Sivan says she was molested by Weinstein during a dinner party she attended at a New York restaurant he owned. After a pleasant conversation, he invited her to tour the kitchen.
She accepted and once they were alone, he made his move.
”He leaned in to kiss me and I told him, ‘No, I’m sorry. I didn’t realize that was the impression you had. I’m not interested. I’m in a relationship.’ And that’s when he told me, ‘Stand there and be quiet.’ And he exposed himself.”
So why did she keep silent for so long?
“I knew very well that had I gone public, had I, you know, angered him in some way, by telling this story, he could have easily made a phone call and I would have lost my job. He could have easily prevented me from getting a job anywhere else. This is a man that all kinds of control over all kinds of media.”
