There are reports that President Trump is about to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA.
It was created by President Obama to allow illegal immigrants who entered the U.S. before they were 16 years old to work here for renewable two year terms may end. Jessica Vaughn, Director of Policy for the Center of Immigration Studies says Trump is under pressure to make this move.
”The political problem for the president is he campaigned on, in his words, terminating Obama’s illegal executive amnesty, of which this is the most prominent.”
She says if Dreamers are going to get amnesty, then there has to be changes.
”Then we need to cut back on other forms of legal immigration. We need to cut back on the chain migration categories that present fiscal costs.”
Jessica Vaughn was a guest on McIntyre in the Morning.
